Red Cross Babysitter Certification Class

The next session of the Red Cross Babysitter Certification class will be held Tuesday & Wednesday, August 18-19, 2009, in Upton, 9am-12:30 both days.

Participants must be at least 11 years old by the date of the first class. The class is intended for both boys & girls, ages 11-16. Registration has begun, at the library. Book Group meets THIS week!

Hey ULTRA!
Just a quick reminder that your BookGroup meets THIS Friday at 3pm!
We'll be discussing An Na's A Step from Heaven. I can't wait to hear your reactions to this book; it was certainly a big shift from our last couple of selections!

Also, I am so excited to tell you about a great site that I just learned about, called Shelfari ... scroll down and see the bookshelf I just created! Click on "Get Your Own Shelf" and design your own! What an awesome way to keep track of all the books we read! Hope to see you Friday!

Library Closing Early today ...

The Upton Town Library
will be closing at 12noon today, due to the snowstorm,
but will be open tomorrow, Saturday, February 23rd, 10-2.

Teen Book Group!

As of November 2007, ULTRA has its own

Teen Book Discussion Group!

The group meets on the last Friday of each month,
from 3-4pm,
at the Library.

The titles discussed so far have been:

December 2007: StarGirl by Jerry Spinelli

January 2008: Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie S. Tolan

and our upcoming titles include:

February 29th, 2008: A Step From Heaven by An Na

March 28th, 2008: Feathers by Jacqueline Woodson

April 25th, 2008: The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt

May 30th, 2008: A Long Way Gone: memoirs of a boy soldier by Ishmael Beah
